Moving from your home

We may recommend that you consider moving house if we cannot meet all your needs by adapting your current home. This may be because:

  • a solution is not technically possible
  • an additional room or extension is required
  • the overall cost is higher than we can support

We know that it can be a difficult decision to move house, but it’s worth considering this at as early a stage as possible. We know there is a high demand for accessible and adaptable social housing. We can offer you advice on applying for a house.

The Fife Housing Register (FHR) allows you to join a waiting list for a property that suits your needs. Many housing associations across Fife use it as a database for their social housing applications.

Housing Options Scotland is a Scotland-wide charity that helps disabled people, older adults (55+), and individuals connected to the Armed Forces find suitable homes. They guide you through the whole process, until a suitable solution is found for you.

Disabled Persons Housing Service (Fife) is an independent charity that provides free, expert housing advice and support to disabled people, their families, and carers across Fife.
