Bulky uplift service
Service UpdateDue to the current impact of Covid-19 the Special Collection Service (Bulky Uplifts) has been temporally suspended.
Fife Council offer a service to collect bulky household items that are too big to fit into a wheeled bin and cannot be transported to one of our recycling centres.
Before recycling an item it is worth seeing if it can be reused first. Our reuse page offers links and more information.
How much does it cost?
The bulky uplift service cost is determined by how many units you use. Each item costs a certain amount of units and you can use up to 36 units per collection.
You will be asked to pay online for your bulky uplift at the end of the form.
- 0 - 18 units = £15
- 19 - 36 units = £30
- Fridge freezer = 18 units
- Television = 6 units
Items we cannot collect
- Items larger than 6ft in length - these must be bundled/dismantled into parts less than 6ft long
- Unbagged garden waste
- Car parts
- Cast iron hearths
- Back boilers
- Bricks or rubble
Where items should be left for collection?
You need to present the bulky items on the kerbside (as close as possible to where the blue bin is collected from) by 6am on the morning of collection.
The only exception to leaving items on the kerbside is if the pavement is extremely narrow or it will cause an obstruction to pedestrians. In this case we will collect from just inside the boundary.
If leaving the items on the kerbside will cause an obstruction to pedestrians please select just within the boundary. If leaving items within the boundary, these must be seen from the roadside and there must be no access issues or obstructions preventing safe collection.
