Children under 5
Children under 5 years old do not need a card as they already travel for free on commercial bus services across Scotland.
My child needs someone to travel with them
Your child may be eligible for the companion element (+1) on their card if they meet the eligibility criteria for their age group.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Middle or High Care Component of Child Disability Payment (CDP)
- Middle or High rate of the Care element of Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
- Registered Severely Sight Impaired
Application Process: Email the following documents to concessionary.travel@fife.gov.uk:
- CDP or DLA award letter or confirmation of Severe Sight Impairment/VYNCIP registration
- Copy of birth certificate or passport
- Passport-style photograph of the child
Children Aged 5-10
To apply for a child between 5 and 10 years old, visit getyournec.scot
If you are unable to complete your application online, you can:
- print the paper application
- email YPfreebustravel@fife.gov.uk to request a copy
- call our Contact Centre on 03451 55 00 66 to send you a copy
You will need an appointment to check your application and proofs. You can book a face-to-face appointment once you have completed the application.
