Crossgates to Fordell Firs (and beyond to Dalgety Bay)

Construction has started on a new multi-use path (pedestrian/ cyclist/ equestrian) linking Crossgates to Fordell Firs. This covers a distance of approximately 3 km. The new path links to the existing multi-use track from Hillend and Dalgety Bay, 2 km away. On this path, there are links to the National Cycle Network at the seafront and also to Inverkeithing. The route is easily accessed from Dunfermline as well, via the Aberdour Road cycle track across the M90.

The path will be 3 m wide with a 1 m verge and work will be ongoing in 2021. It will help make it easier to travel between several communities, with access to rural roads, lanes and the core path network.

The cost of the works is £535,000.
