Processing times for Blue Badges will vary depending on the type of application.
Due to our current circumstances, Further Assessment applications are currently taking 12-14 weeks to process.
All other applications are taking 4-6 weeks.
We recognise the impact these processing delays are having on our existing Badge holders and new applicants and apologise for this. To lessen this impact on existing Badge holders Fife Council is extending the period a holder can continue to display their expired Badge and benefit from the parking concessions within Fife Council car parks and on-street parking to 3 months, from the Badge expiry date.
Current Badge holders need to be aware of processing times and should they require to re-apply for a Badge they need to do so as soon as they can.
The Blue Badge Scheme is a national scheme that enables people with significant mobility problems to park closer to their destination. The national scheme is open to eligible disabled people no matter whether they're a driver or a passenger. Blue Badges can be issued to adults, children or organisations providing care.
You can apply for a Blue Badge online or via application form. (Please note if you are applying under the Risk in Traffic criteria, this can only be done via a paper application).
Copies of the application types are shown below and can be printed from here.
If you are unable to print out a copy of an application form, you can request to have one sent by post by calling 03451 55 00 66.
