Your council tax bill depends on your property’s value. This is called your council tax band.
Find your council tax band
You can check your band in one of these ways:
- sign in to your council tax account
- check the top of your paper bill
- use the Scottish Assessors Association (SAA) website if you do not have a bill
If you cannot find your property, contact the Fife Assessor.
How council tax bands are set
The Fife Assessor places your property in one of 8 bands (A to H). They base this on how much your property would have sold for on 1 April 1991.
If you disagree with your band
You can appeal your band by submitting a proposal to the Assessor. The Assessor is independent from the council.
