Pitreavie Athletics Track

Property Services provided civil engineering design and contract administration for this project, including specification of the specialist sports surface.

The project involved the resurfacing of the existing 400 m athletics track at Pitreavie, on behalf of Fife Sports and Leisure Trust.

The track was resurfaced using a 2 layer porous heavy duty synthetic surface, to meet the requirements for the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) Class 1 (competition standard).

The programme for the work was extremely restricted, due to the requirement for warm dry weather for this form of surfacing as well as to fit in with the busy track and field event calendar at the facility. Resurfacing was also carried out to the javelin, high jump and shot areas.
