As part of the Scottish Government’s initiative to expand free school meals, we recently relocated a dining hut from Woodmill High, Dunfermline to Castlehill Primary, Cupar. The hut underwent significant upgrades, including new cladding, improved toilet facilities, and modern heating, ensuring it meets the needs of all pupils and staff. This addition has not only provided a dedicated dining space but also created a versatile, multipurpose area for young people to enjoy. The space will also host the Out of School Club, offering even greater benefits to the school community. This project demonstrates how creative solutions and resource reuse can deliver high quality facilities while supporting sustainability and improving opportunities for children. Property Services provided detailed design plans, client support services and the work was undertaken by Fife Council Building Services in conjunction with local contractors.
