The project brief was to provide a modern purpose-built community facility to deliver a range of services to meet the needs of the Benarty villages of Glencraig, Crosshill, Lochore and Ballingry. This includes improved and enhanced services for adults, young people and children. The final building has provided an opportunity to reinforce the traditional sense of community which exists within the Benarty area.

The completed building replaces a large number of separate facilities across the Benarty villages and provides, under one roof, a variety of multi-functional spaces designed to meet the current and future the needs of the community.  The building has been well received by all the community are making great use of the facilities.

This modern building has also been designed to address the three pillars of sustainable design through the fulfilment of human needs, sound economic development, and protection of the environment and prudent use of natural resources.
