Using reusable period products is a great way to help the environment and save money. Here are some things you might not know:

• a disposable pad can take up to 500 years to break down in general waste
• one pack of disposable pads can contain as much plastic as four plastic carrier bags
• across the UK, single use menstrual products create around 200,000 tonnes of waste every year
• the average person uses about 12,000 disposable products in their lifetime, creating around 5 tonnes of waste

Reusable period products in Fife

There are reusable period products available across Fife:

Menstrual cups (in two sizes) are available at many locations and through our home delivery service. A single cup can last up to 10 years, saving you money and reducing waste

Reusable period pants (available in sizes 4 to 22/24) and reusable pads are available in all ONFife Libraries and Theatres from 01 April 2026. Just visit a venue and speak to a member of staff.

We attend events across Fife throughout the year where you can pick up reusable products. These events are promoted through our Social Media.
