Fife Council

We're the biggest employer in Fife, with a workforce of around 17,500 people serving Fife's 375,000 residents.

Under the Chief Executive, the council is organised into five directorates, each led by an Executive Director:

  • Communities
  • Education
  • Finance & Corporate Services
  • Health & Social Care (HSCP)
  • Place

The council and NHS Fife jointly deliver services through the Fife Health & Social Care Parnership. The Director of HSCP is accountable to Chief Executives of both organisations.

Our performance is benchmarked and reported regularly to councillors.

Fife Council is made up of 75 elected members who represent 22 electoral wards.

The Fife Partnership

We work with our community planning partners to deliver a shared vision for a fairer, successful, confident Fife, as set out in a single Plan for Fife.

Together, our focus is on tackling poverty and inequality and preventing problems before they become too big and expensive to fix. And the best bit about this new way of working is that communities will be involved in decisions that affect them.
