Kincardine Community Centre has been closed since April due to subsidence issues. Fife Council is arranging a structural survey, while the Mines Remediation Authority continues to monitor the building and surrounding area.
The Kincardine Community Association, which has successfully managed the centre for over 30 years, has announced its decision to step away from operations at the end of September 2025.
Community Use Team Manager, Scott Fenton said: "Given the ongoing structural concerns, and the Association’s departure, the centre will remain closed for the foreseeable future. I'd like to thank Kincardine Community Association for their efforts and valued contribution to the local community over the years.
"At present, the building and surrounding area continue to undergo assessment and monitoring. While this process is ongoing, we are unfortunately not able to provide a more definitive update. We appreciate the community’s patience and will share further information as it becomes available.
"In the meantime, almost all activities previously held at the centre have successfully relocated to other local venues and we're working with the remaining few to help them move to other premises."
