Have your say on Community Council proposals

Consultation is open on the final stage of the revised Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils. This is now online and we are asking the public once again to give their views.

At its meeting on 18 September, Fife Council agreed to move to the third phase of consultation, following feedback from community councils, elected members and the public.

Helena Couperwhite, Democratic Services Manager advised: “We’re really grateful for the feedback we've received during the consultation. Community Councils play a vital role in our communities. They act as a voice for our residents. They help shape local priorities through their involvement in community planning partnership groups and meet regularly to discuss issues affecting their area, including planning and licensing applications. This means it’s important that they are well-run and adhere to strict guidelines.”

Findings from the phase three consultation will be presented to a Special Meeting of Fife Council on 11 December 2025.
