Fife parking penalties increase

Fixed penalty notice on windscreenFOLLOWING revised guidance from Transport Scotland, parking fines in Fife will go up to £100 from 1st July 2025. However, the £100 charge will be discounted to £50 if paid within 14 days.

This change brings Fife Council parking penalties in line with other Councils across Scotland who also operate Decriminalised Parking Enforcement (DPE).

Motorists can receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) when they break parking regulations. These can include parking on double yellow lines, within School Keep Clear areas, loading bays or in disabled bays.

Councillor Altany Craik, Fife Council’s Spokesperson for Finance, Economy & Strategic Planning said: “The majority of residents and visitors in Fife follow parking regulations, so most people won’t be affected by this increase.

“By making this change, it brings Fife Council into line with other Scottish Councils.”

The increased fines come into effect from 1 July 2025 for all Fife Council car parks and on-street parking.
