Fife Council will host a Jobs Fair at the Glen Pavilion in Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline to promote their wide range of vacancies and career opportunities. The event will take place on 8th October 2025, from 10am – 2pm.
For the past two years, there have been three successful job fair events with over 500 job seekers attending on each occasion. Attendees learned more about working for Fife Council, with feedback from service representatives being extremely positive.
Organised in partnership with DWP, the event on 8th October will host presentations from a range of council services and offer opportunities to speak to current staff about vacancies on offer and what it's like to work with Fife Council.
Come along and speak to employees from catering, active schools, cleaning, early years and pupil support, childcare, social care, waste operations, grounds maintenance and more.
Our Community Jobs Clubs, Employability Service and Deaf Communication Service have confirmed that they will also attend to offer support for those attending. Support includes informal chats about people’s interests, skills and experience which will enable them to match them to vacancies or to guide them through the online application process.
DWP, Kingdom Works, Skills Development Scotland, Fife Voluntary Action, Citizens Advice Fife, BRAG, DWP Disability Employer and Childcare representatives, Fife College and Gingerbread will also be available to support applicants, where required.
Our Head of HR, Sharon McKenzie said: "Our workforce makes a difference in all sorts of ways. They care for our elderly, inspire youngsters in the classroom, keep our parks well maintained, fill potholes, and help secure housing for homeless families. They empty bins, cook school dinners, answer emergency calls on our community alarms line, support businesses to expand and boost the local economy. We have a variety of contract options including part time, term time and full time and, in some cases, varied and flexible shift patterns too.
"We'd love to see anyone who might be interested in a career with the council. Come along and find out what working for us is all about. We can offer the Scottish Local Government Living Wage, training opportunities for career progression, a generous paid holiday allowance, a pension scheme, flexible working opportunities, employee discount schemes and lifestyle benefits including a cycle to work scheme.
"We are looking forward to seeing lots of people and are sure that it will be a worthwhile event for those who come along. Please pop along on the day to find out more."
