Fife Council launches phase two of Community Council Scheme consultation

Fife Council's logoFife Council has announced the start of Phase Two of the statutory consultation process on the proposed new Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils.

Councillors decided at a special meeting held on 19 June 2025 to move forward with the proposal to revoke the existing scheme, agreed in March,  and introduce a new one.

The second phase of the consultation runs until 15 August 2025, and the Council is inviting  suggestions and representations from members of the public. This phase will focus on the draft scheme and associated documentation, including Community Council boundaries.

Submissions must be received by 5pm on Friday 15 August 2025 and can be made by:

Copies of the draft scheme are available to view at Fife House, Glenrothes, and the following libraries during normal opening hours:

  • Cowdenbeath Library
  • Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries
  • Kirkcaldy Galleries
  • Cupar Library
  • Rothes Hall Library, Glenrothes
