Fife Council is supporting Menstrual Hygiene Day on Wednesday 28 May with a special pop-up information stand at the Kingdom shopping centre in Glenrothes from 10am-3pm.
The stand will highlight the council’s commitment to improving access to free period products and promoting dignity for everyone who menstruates. Council staff will be available to chat, answer questions, and hand out samples of the free products available throughout Fife.
The event is part of the global Menstrual Hygiene Day campaign, which raises awareness about the importance of menstrual health and hygiene, and works to end stigma and taboos around periods.
Fife Council is proud to offer free period products in a wide range of locations including community centres, libraries, leisure facilities, schools and online. From traditional sanitary towels and tampons to reusable options like menstrual cups, there are accessible, dignified options for everyone.

Cllr Linda Erskine, Spokesperson for Communities, said:“We have been offering free products across Fife since 2019 and we want women and girls to continue to have access to free products in a dignified way.
"Periods are a normal part of life, and no one should have to miss out on education, work, or social activities because they can’t afford period products. Menstrual Hygiene Day is a brilliant opportunity to shine a light on the issue and let people know help is available. Our stand in the Kingdom Shopping Centre is just one way we’re making period products easier to access, while also breaking down stigma and encouraging open conversations."
