A fundraising effort from Fife Council's recent Environment and Building Services Apprentice of the Year Awards has now been passed on to two local charities.

Ross Grieve, Service Manager for Fife Council's Building Services explained: "I am so pleased our fundraising raffle at our recent Apprentice of the Year Awards raised an impressive £14,335. It has been equally split between Fife Young Carers and Trust in Fife.

"We have our event attendees to thank for their generosity and must give a special thanks to the event sponsors who helped to increase the donations to the generous final sums."

Jodie Burn from Fife Young Carers said: "We were delighted to be chosen as one of the charities to benefit from the generosity of those attending the Apprentice of the Year Awards. The donation will go a long way in supporting young carers across Fife."

Caroline McCall from Trust in Fife added: "We are privileged to receive this donation. This money will go towards helping people sustain their accommodation in the private rented sector and I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated on the night."
