Update on business grants

This article is more than 3 years old

We’d like to apologise to any businesses who didn’t receive an automatic email response to acknowledge their business support grant application. We did have an issue with this, but we’ve fixed it now.

We’re following the process the Scottish Government put in place on 1 April and we’re working really hard to get through all the applications. So far, we’ve received over 3,400 applications and processed over 1120, with almost 1,100 being approved - payments have been made this week and more will follow next week.

If you haven’t heard from us we will get back to you. Please bear with us. We’ve trained up more staff to help with your applications. Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to get the applications processed so businesses can get their payment. One thing that will help us is, if you make sure you provide us with all the relevant information required (especially submitting a recent bank statement with the application). Without it, it will take longer to process your application.

We are working as quickly as we can to get through the applications submitted and we understand frustrations with timescales. If you haven’t heard from us since you submitted your application and you feel your situation is urgent considering the workload situation described above, please email ec.dev@fife.gov.uk detailing the urgent nature of your situation and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

You may also have seen the Scottish Government’s announcement on even more help for businesses. Please note however, that this doesn’t open until Tuesday 5 May. More information will follow in the next few weeks.
