Stage status: Consultation
St Agatha’s RC Primary School serves a large catchment area, with many parents driving to drop off and pick up pupils. The proposed Safer Route to School project encourages families to ‘Park and Stride’ from nearby parking at King George Memorial playing fields.
A new 3m-wide bituminous path will run from the sports pavilion on Parkdale Avenue along the south side of Park Drive to the school. This will help reduce congestion near the school gates by allowing pupils to walk the final stretch from the parking areas.
Timeline:
- Consultation - Autumn 2025
- Construction - this is anticipated for 2025-26 for approximately 3 months
