Journey planning and timetables

Plan your journey by bus, train, ferry or (internal) plane across Scotland using the Traveline Scotland Journey Planner, at the bottom of this page.

You can also visit the Traveline Scotland website for more information. Alternatively, you can call 08712 002233 (24 hours, daily) to plan your journey.

You can get bus times on your smartphone. Search for the FREE "Traveline Scotland" app to download for iPhone, Blackberry, Android & Windows phones or find out more at Traveline Scotland Apps.

Fife Council (in partnership with Smarter Choices, Smarter Places) has developed a new Travel Fife website.  The website hosts the interactive bus map which assists with journey planning.  The interactive map allows you to:

  • search for bus services and stops;
  • download timetables, and
  • see the route your service takes.

Timetables

Bus and train times for all services within, to and from Fife are available from the Traveline Scotland website. Alternatively, you can call 0871 200 22 33 (24 hours, daily) to plan your journey.

We now have a website called TravelFife.  This is a one-stop hub for travel information in Fife.  There is information on bus and rail operators, maps, park and ride sites and a fantastic journey planning tool. If you need to get in contact with us, email Travel.Fife@fife.gov.uk

There are many bus services crossing Fife.  Once you know which bus service you need, click the relevant bus company website to see the timetable:

Stagecoach East Scotland is the main bus operator in Fife whose routes serve most towns and villages as well as the express network to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee.

JET 747 01383 660880
JET 747 is Fife's airport bus from Halbeath Park & Ride, Inverkeithing Railway Station and Ferrytoll Park & Ride to Edinburgh Airport.  This service operates 24 hours.

Moffat & Williamson 01382 541159
Moffat & Williamson operates some local services in Glenrothes, Markinch, Star, Kennoway, Leven, St Andrews, Tayport and Gauldry.

Go-Flexi is the name of some 'phone & go' taxibus services serving rural North and East Fife.

A1 Coaches operates services between Methil/East Neuk and Elmwood College in Cupar.

Bay Travel operates services in Kelty, Cowdenbeath, Dunfermline, North Queensferry and Auchtertool.  They also operate a service from West Wemyss to Kirkcaldy, via Dysart and Victoria Hospital.

Hamish Gordon operates school buses for Fife Council.  Hamish Gordon also operates services for Perth and Kinross Council (please note these are private contracts and the public are unable to use these services).
