A FlexiZone is a large, rural area containing many villages, hamlets and farms. Travel is permitted anywhere within a FlexiZone or to/from the FlexiZone to some designated places outwith the zone.
Back To TopYes. The taxibuses operate any time within a specified time period – there’s no timetable. You must book your journey just like you would phone for a taxi.
You can book one journey, a return trip or a few journeys in the same phone call. You can book from one week down to one hour before you want to travel.
You must phone to book journeys – you cannot simply ask the taxibus driver to pick you up.
Back To TopUnfortunately not. The FlexiZone zone boundaries are clearly defined; please see the detailed maps on our Routes page. There are a few designated places out with the FlexiZones that you can travel to or from, and these are specific to each service.
Back To TopMost of the current FlexiZones previously had no buses or a very infrequent bus service. The cost of running a normal bus service is often excessive and the times and routes don't really suit everyone living throughout a vast, rural area.
The ‘phone and go’ idea is an attempt to provide more journeys to more places, on a more regular basis and for more people.
Back To TopThe taxibuses are 7-seat, wheelchair accessible cars operated by Moffat & Williamson, which display the Go-Flexi logo in the front window.
Back To TopYes. The Scottish National Entitlement Card (MyFife) can be used.
Back To TopYes, of course. When you phone to book, please tell the operator that you'll be bringing a wheelchair or pram with you.
Back To TopYes, they can. When you book, please tell the operator how many people are travelling with you. Even if you have a journey already booked for yourself, it would be helpful to let the operator know if someone else wants to join you.
Remember, the taxibuses can only carry 7 passengers at the one time and other people may have booked and be travelling on the same journey as you.
Back To TopGo-Flexi services are taxi-buses – not taxis. You can’t ask to have an exclusive journey.
If someone else wants to travel at the same time as you, it makes sense to pick up other people on the way. In this way, time is saved, and more journeys can be provided.
Back To TopWhilst the driver will do their best to pick you up and drop you off from your chosen point, there may be locations where this isn't possible:
- when it's unsafe to stop
- when it's difficult to access
- when it's difficult to turn the vehicle
Please be understanding if you have to make a short walk to and from the vehicle.
Back To TopThese buses still run in the same way as before, but are no longer branded as Go-Flexi services. They are now known as Services 94 & 94A.
The timetable is available on the Stagecoach website.
