Do you own an empty home and want to sell it, or would you like to buy an empty property?
The Empty Homes Matchmaker Scheme may be able to help. It's a free service that matches owners who want to sell with people who want to buy.
Fife's Empty Homes Matchmaker Scheme is now running alongside Scotland's national scheme, to give you more options.
How does the scheme work?
Sellers
National Matchmaker scheme
You now have the option of advertising your long-term empty property for sale on the National Matchmaker Scheme.
Your property will be advertised online and available for all to see, so you will get more exposure.
We will let our list of Fife Matchmaker Scheme buyers know when a Fife property is advertised on the National scheme.

Fife Matchmaker scheme
We would encourage you to use the National Scheme. If you feel that you do not want to advertise online through this scheme, you can still register with the Fife Matchmaker Scheme only.
When you register for this scheme, we create a short property profile of your empty home and share it with our list of buyers registered with the Fife Scheme.
Buyers
National Matchmaker scheme
You can check the National Matchmaker Scheme to view long-term empty properties for sale from across Scotland. You can then register your interest in purchasing an advertised property. This note of interest will be passed on to the seller.

Fife Matchmaker scheme
Once you register as a buyer, we will send you an email notification when we are made aware of properties in Fife that are being advertised through the National Scheme.
We will also contact you to let you know of any properties being advertised through the Fife Matchmaker Scheme.
Note
The Property Matchmaker scheme is not an estate agency, and all negotiations and sales processes take place between the owner and buyer.
We recommend that anyone who is seeking to sell their property obtains independent professional valuation and legal advice from a solicitor or estate agent.
It is a legal requirement in Scotland for any property which is on the market to have a Home Report. Owners who are considering selling but have not yet taken the step of getting a home report may register with the scheme.
You should not enter into any negotiations with potential purchasers until a Home Report is acquired.
