A bespoke Renewables Training facility at Muirhead Street, Kirkcaldy, delivers training courses that promote the opportunities presented by the growing renewable energy sector.
Trainees gain hands-on experience and work with small scale renewable heating and electricity generating technologies. Trainers show how people already in a trade can adapt to become a certified installer. Emphasizing that not only those in heavy industry can take advantage of this growing industry.
Training covers installation of renewable energy technologies such as biomass units, photovoltaic systems and turbines demonstrate how different technologies can fit with different trades.
The centre includes dedicated classroom areas, meeting rooms and a full joinery workshop. A small wind turbine, new generation boilers and photovoltaic systems, supplied by local companies, are used to demonstrated how different trade skills can be applied to these renewable energy technologies.
