Access: Bookings must be made online to access this site www.fife.gov.uk/recyclingcentres. Please remember to bring your booking confirmation email and driving license or a council tax bill as proof of identity. There will be no entry without a booking. Vehicles: Cars and small & medium sized vans (including pickups, passenger and camper vans) only - no large vans, mobile homes, tippers, trailers or other commercial type vehicles. Only 1 person is allowed per vehicle unless the item being disposed of is too heavy to be handled by a single person. In this instance two members from the same household can attend the recycling centre and exit the vehicle to dispose of the item.

Once on site: The recycling centre is laid out differently to accommodate social distancing. Site staff cannot help dispose of waste but will be on hand to answer any questions, please follow their instructions.

The materials accepted at Ladybank HWRC are:

  • Landfill waste that:
    • Is not suitable for reuse;
    • Cannot be recycled;
  • Green garden waste
  • Paper/cardboard
  • Cans and plastics
  • Wood (includes MDF and logs)
  • Metal
  • White Goods such as washing machines and fridges.
  • Small electrical and electronic equipment (no TVs/monitors or fire/smoke alarms). If it has a plug or a battery then bring it in
  • Soil and rubble
  • Mattresses
  • Carpet

No other materials will be accepted

Examples of landfill waste that can be brought in as long as they are not suitable for reuse, can fit in your car and that 1 person can carry include:

  • Excess bagged waste that would normally go in the kerbside bin
  • Polystyrene
  • Suitcase/luggage
  • Small armchair
  • Dense plastic garden pots
  • Broken toys

Examples of waste that cannot be brought to the sites:

  • TV’s and monitors
  • Fire and smoke alarms
  • Rubble

Examples of green garden waste that can be brought to site include:

  • Grass cuttings
  • Flowers and plants
  • Weeds and trimmings
  • Leaves
  • Hedge clippings

Examples of waste that cannot go in the green garden waste skip include:

  • Soil
  • Turf
  • Logs

Food waste bags are not available.

Once you have finished disposing of your waste, please sanitise your hands (bring your own) and leave the site.
