Benarty Library (OnFife)

Located within the Centre,  Benarty Library is a modern and inviting space offering a wide range of services to the community. Patrons can borrow books across various genres and formats, including large print and audiobooks, access public computers equipped with internet, and utilize facilities such as photocopying, printing, and free Wi-Fi. The library also hosts engaging activities like children's rhyme-times, storytelling, and craft sessions, fostering a love for reading and learning among younger visitors. With its fully accessible facilities, and free car parking, Benarty Library serves as a welcoming hub for knowledge, creativity, and community connection.

Active Travel Route & Facilities

Walking and Cycling Paths: Benarty Centre is well-connected to the surrounding area by a network of walking and cycling paths, encouraging safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly ways to travel. Local paths link Ballingry with Lochgelly, Crosshill, and Glencraig, making the Centre easily accessible by foot or bike.

Cycle Parking & Maintenance: To support active travel, the Centre provides convenient cycle parking. Visitors arriving by bike are welcome to make use of these facilities during their visit.

Public Travel Information

Bus Services

Several local bus services connect Ballingry to neighbouring towns and villages, with stops just a short walk from the Benarty Centre. Popular routes include:

  • Stagecoach Service 19: Connecting Ballingry to Lochgelly, Cowdenbeath, and Dunfermline.
  • Stagecoach Service 34: Linking Ballingry to Glenrothes via Lochore and Kinglassie.
  • Stagecoach Service 81/81A: Serving the Benarty area and offering regular links to Lochgelly and beyond.

Rail Services

The nearest railway station is Lochgelly Station, located approximately 2 miles from the Benarty Centre. From the station, visitors can reach the centre by local bus or a short taxi journey.
