Located in the heart of Ballingry, Benarty Centre is a modern, fully accessible facility designed to support and celebrate the spirit of our local community. Our one-court-sized sports hall is an ideal space for a wide range of activities. Whether you're planning a weekly fitness class, a friendly game of five-a-side, or an energetic kids’ session, the hall offers a bright, well-maintained environment perfect for:

Garden Room

Garden Room

The Garden Room offers a bright, welcoming environment with the added benefit of direct access to a secure outdoor area - perfect for groups who want to combine indoor activities with time outside. This versatile, fully accessible space is ideal for a variety of uses, from relaxed gatherings to creative sessions.

The Garden Room offers something a little different - making it popular with groups looking to make use of both indoor and outdoor space.

Creche Room

A brightly coloured playroom with mural-painted walls, small tables and chairs, a black sofa, art supplies, toys, and a playhouse. The space is organized and inviting, designed for creative and educational activities.

The Creche room offers a bright, welcoming environment with the added benefit of direct access to a secure outdoor activity play area. The room has an office area, toilet access and a shared galley kitchen, perfect for childcare provision, or groups who want to combine indoor activities with time outside. This versatile, fully accessible space is ideal for a variety of uses, from relaxed gatherings to creative sessions.

Benarty Library (OnFife)

Located within the Centre, Benarty Library is a modern and inviting space offering a wide range of services to the community. Patrons can borrow books across various genres and formats, including large print and audiobooks, access public computers equipped with internet, and utilize facilities such as photocopying, printing, and free Wi-Fi. The library also hosts engaging activities like children's rhyme-times, storytelling, and craft sessions, fostering a love for reading and learning among younger visitors. With its fully accessible facilities, and free car parking, Benarty Library serves as a welcoming hub for knowledge, creativity, and community connection.

Active Travel Route and Facilities

Walking and Cycling Paths: Benarty Centre is well-connected to the surrounding area by a network of walking and cycling paths, encouraging safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly ways to travel. Local paths link Ballingry with Lochgelly, Crosshill, and Glencraig, making the Centre easily accessible by foot or bike.

Cycle Parking and Maintenance: To support active travel, the Centre provides convenient cycle parking. Visitors arriving by bike are welcome to make use of these facilities during their visit.

Bus Services

Several local bus services connect Ballingry to neighbouring towns and villages, with stops just a short walk from the Benarty Centre. Popular routes include:

  • Stagecoach Service 19: Connecting Ballingry to Lochgelly, Cowdenbeath, and Dunfermline.
  • Stagecoach Service 34: Linking Ballingry to Glenrothes via Lochore and Kinglassie.
  • Stagecoach Service 81/81A: Serving the Benarty area and offering regular links to Lochgelly and beyond.

Rail Services

The nearest railway station is Lochgelly Station, located approximately 2 miles from the Benarty Centre. From the station, visitors can reach the centre by local bus or a short taxi journey.
