Rent Support Fund

The council have allocated £1 million to support council tenants who pay rent charges. These funds will give tenants, who qualify, a one-off payment of £75 into their rent account.

You can apply for the Rent Support Fund if:

  • you are a Fife Council tenant and do not receive full Housing Benefit or Universal Credit Housing Costs, and pay money towards your rent charge
  • your total monthly income is below the qualifying amount listed below

You can apply for Rent Support Fund online. When you apply, you will be asked to provide bank statements for the last three months, as evidence to support your claim. You can upload these when applying online.  

If you do not have a computer at home, computers are available and free to use at all Fife libraries. Find your nearest at: www.onfife.com/libraries

If you cannot apply online, or need help or support completing the application form, please call us on 03451 55 11 55 and select option 4 or complete the Book an Appointment form, to make an appointment at your nearest Customer Service Centre.

You cannot apply if you receive full Housing Benefit or full Universal Credit Housing costs as your rent charges are being paid by the government.

If you’re struggling to pay your rent, please contact us on 03451 55 11 55 and select option 4. We are open Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm. We will discuss the situation and explain all the options available to you.
