The results of the Glenrothes West and Kinglassie by-election, which took place on Thursday 22 January, have been announced.

Zoe Hisbent, Scottish National Party (SNP) has been elected to represent Fife Council in Ward 13.

First preference votes for each candidate as follows:

SCOTCHER Ed Scottish Liberal Democrats - 125
SMITH Danny Scottish Family Party: Pro-Family, Pro-Marriage, Pro-Life - 25
VALENTE Romano ReformUK – Changing Politics for Good - 725
WINTON Jacob Scottish Labour Party - 413

The turnout was 22.1%

The total number of ballot papers received was 2,663

There were 26 rejected ballot papers
