Vital funding agreed for EATS Rosyth

South and West Fife Area Committee has agreed to give £33,009 to support EATS Rosyth during a period of transition.

EATS Rosyth provides vital services for the local community, including affordable food, community meals, volunteering opportunities and wellbeing support. Demand for these services has increased significantly due to the cost-of-living crisis, with more people experiencing financial hardship, food insecurity and social isolation.

The organisation is currently adapting its services and structure as several key funding streams come to an end in June 2026. A review of its finances has led to changes designed to make the organisation more sustainable in the long term.

The funding agreed by the Area Committee will help EATS Rosyth continue delivering essential support while this work is ongoing. It will allow the organisation to support more than 300 people each week, run community activities, and provide opportunities for over 150 volunteers to build skills and confidence.

It will also help fund the role of General Manager, which is key to guiding the organisation through this transition and securing future funding.

Cllr Dave Dempsey, Area Convener, said: “EATS Rosyth plays a hugely important role in supporting people across the community. This funding will help provide stability at a critical time, ensuring vital services can continue while the organisation strengthens its long-term future.”

EATS Rosyth is actively seeking other funding and developing partnerships to ensure the sustainability of its services for the years ahead.
