Fife Council has thanked local people for the positive feedback received following yesterday’s public drop-in event on the future of Kirkcaldy town centre and waterfront.
Hundreds of people visited the Adam Smith Theatre to view emerging approaches for the £20 million Growth Mission Fund investment and the wider long-term plan for Kirkcaldy town centre and waterfront. 
The event built on months of engagement with local people, community groups and stakeholders. Feedback received so far has helped shape the approaches that were presented and will continue to inform the next stage of work.
Councillor Ian Cameron, Convener of Kirkcaldy Area Committee, said: "I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to come along to the event.
"It was great to see so many people engaged in the future of Kirkcaldy and willing to get involved in the conversation.
"The ideas on display have been shaped by what we've heard from local people and reflect the opportunities that many have told us they would like to see in the town. There is a real chance here to build on Kirkcaldy's strengths and create something that benefits residents, visitors and future generations.
"No decisions have been made and we're continuing to listen. Everyone's feedback will help shape the next stage of the work as we develop proposals for the town centre and waterfront.

Feedback will be considered alongside other information, including advice from landscape architects, costs, and input from council services such as roads and planning, before a draft long-term plan for Kirkcaldy town centre and waterfront is presented to Fife Council's Cabinet Committee later this year. The proposal for the Growth Mission Fund will also be refined and shared before the end of the year.
