This spring, we’re spending £80,000 improving the road network in Ceres.

We'll be improving the pedestrian safety on St Andrews Road, Ceres from Monday 6 April to Friday 10 April 2026.

Cllr Altany Craik, convener of  economy,  tourism,  strategic  planning and transportation said: “We maintain over 2,400km of roads in Fife and we’re spending millions each year repairing and improving them. Our road network is vital to support economic development, inward investment, tourism, leisure and travel to work. Almost everyone in Fife uses our roads each day, which is why this type of maintenance work is essential.”

This project will help make the road safer and improve walking and cycling routes in Ceres. Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4pm and will include:

• Replacing existing controlled pedestrian crossing

• Constructing a new raised table

• Upgrading the existing drainage system

• Kerb realigning and footway resurfacing

• Removing existing “keep right” buildouts

• Installing a vehicle‑activated speed sign

St Andrews Road will be closed to through‑traffic, from the C56 junction to the B939, for safety during the works. A signed diversion route will be in place.

Access will be maintained for emergency services. Access for vehicles to individual properties may be temporarily restricted at points during construction. Site staff will work with residents to maintain access wherever possible.  Bus services will be affected by these works. For more bus information please contact the bus service provider.
