This autumn, we’re spending £160,000 improving the road network between Kirkcaldy and Kinghorn. Work on a section of the A921 Kinghorn Road will be carried out from Monday 21 September to Thursday 8 October 2026.

The A921 Kinghorn Road is a key route linking Kirkcaldy with Kinghorn.
A signed diversion route will be in place. Traffic may be slower and you may experience delays; please allow extra time for your journey.
Access for emergency services and residents of Linton Court will be maintained wherever it’s safe to do so.

Works Programme
Road resurfacing works will be carried out on the A921 Kinghorn Road between Kirkcaldy and Kinghorn.
To allow the work to be carried out safely, the road will be closed between 9am and 3pm each day. Temporary traffic lights will be in place outside these hours.
A signed diversion route will be in place via the A921, A909, B9157 and A921.

- Working hours - Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4pm.
- Daily road closure between 9am to 3pm.
- Evening or weekend working may be needed.
- All roadworks are weather dependent and may be rescheduled.
Bus Services

School buses will not be affected by the road closure.

Keeping you informed
Updates will be provided through our social media channels and website. Road signs will be displayed at key locations to warn road users of the roadworks. Linton Court residents will be notified in advance of works affecting access to their property.
