This summer, we’re spending £440,000 improving the road network between Kirkcaldy and Dalgety Bay. We’ll be resurfacing a section of the B9157- known locally as Orrock Quarry Road, from Monday 17 August to Friday 18 September 2026.
Location
Map showing works location
The B9157 links Kirkcaldy with Burntisland, Aberdour and west Fife and provides an alternative to the A921 coastal road.
A signed diversion route will be in place. Traffic may be slower and you may experience delays; please allow extra time for your journey.
Access for residents and emergency services will be maintained wherever it’s safe to do so.
Thank you for your patience and co-operation as we improve Fife’s roads.
Works Programme
Works will be carried out on the B9157 between the junction to Kinghorn and the junction to Auchtertool. The project will involve:
- removing existing road surface
- ironwork repairs
- resurfacing
- reinstating road markings
To allow the works to be carried out safely, the road will be closed 24 hours a day for the duration of the project.
A signed diversion route will be in place via the A909, B923 and A921 through Kinghorn and Burntisland.
