This autumn, we’re spending £914,000 improving the road network between Inverkeithing and Rosyth. Work on a section of the A921 Admiralty Road will be carried out overnight from 31 August to 9 October 2026 to help minimise disruption to road users.

This section of the A921 Admiralty Road is a key route linking Inverkeithing, Rosyth and the M90.
A signed diversion route will be in place. Traffic may be slower and you may experience delays; please allow extra time for your journey.
Access for businesses and emergency services will be maintained wherever it’s safe to do so.

Works Programme
Works will be carried out on the A921 Admiralty Road from the roundabout with Chapel Place to the roundabout with the M90. The project will involve:
- resurfacing
- upgrading the shared use footpath on the south side of the carriageway to a segregated cycle and pedestrian path
- upgrading the street lighting on both the south and the north footpaths
To minimise disruption, the works will be undertaken at night under a temporary road closure. The road will close at 7pm each evening and reopen at 6am the following morning, from Monday evening through to Saturday morning.
A signed diversion route will be in place via the B981, Aberdour Road, Lapwing Drive, Carnegie Avenue, Queensferry Road, Kings Road, A985 through Dunfermline and Rosyth.
- Working hours - Monday to Friday, 7pm to 6am
- All roadworks are weather dependent and may be rescheduled.

Communications
Updates will be provided through our social media channels and website. Road signs will be displayed at key locations to warn road users of the roadworks. Businesses will be notified in advance of works affecting their property.
