Following a public consultation with local residents, Fife Council has unveiled the new design for Cardean Way play park in Glenrothes.
The £100,000 play park is being partially funded by Fife Council and hopefully with local community fundraising a further £30,000 will secure the full funding package.
Almost 70 people took part in the consultation and the final design takes on board their suggestions and choices.
The new design is made up of a variety of equipment which will mean there will be something suitable and accessible for everyone, including double somersault bars, seesaw, triple tower multiunit with two slides, net climber, rock climber, bridge, tunnel and inclusive play panels, a separate climbing unit with pipe ladders, climbing wall, rope ladder and overhead ladder, a swing set to cater for all users, an inclusive spinner bowl and a carousel.
Councillor Linda Erskine, spokesperson for communities, said: “A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation to let us know what they would like to see in the new play area. The new equipment will be suitable and accessible for everyone. I look forward to work starting when all the funding is secured.”
