Alternative approaches for the future of Kirkcaldy town centre and waterfront will be shared with the public as part of plans for the Scottish Government's £20 million Growth Mission Fund investment in the town. 
People are being reminded that they’re invited to attend a public drop-in event at the Adam Smith Theatre on Tuesday 25 August between 2pm-8pm, where they can view the emerging approaches being explored for Kirkcaldy town centre and waterfront. The approaches build on the work carried out so far and reflect what has been learned through engagement. Those who come along will also be able to speak to the project team and find out more about the next stage of the long-term plan for the town centre and waterfront.
Over recent months, Fife Council has engaged with local people, stakeholders and community groups to better understand aspirations for the town centre and waterfront. Feedback gathered through this work has helped shape the concepts that will be shared with the public. The work has also provided an opportunity to look at how the £20 million Growth Mission Fund investment can be used to make the biggest possible difference to Kirkcaldy, its town centre and waterfront.
The drop-in event will offer an opportunity to see how ideas have developed, speak directly to members of the project team and share views on the opportunities being explored. No decisions have been made and feedback from the event will help inform the next stage of work.
Councillor Ian Cameron, Convener of Kirkcaldy Area Committee, said: "We've spent time listening to local people and learning more about what matters most to them. The event on 25 August is an opportunity to share how that feedback is helping shape the long-term plan for Kirkcaldy’s town centre and waterfront and to continue the conversation.
