High school pupils across Fife can now enjoy greater choice and convenience at lunchtime with the launch of a new Grab Bag lunch promotion.

Available for just £2.75, the Grab Bag allows pupils to build a lunch that suits their tastes by choosing:

• A hot meal or grab-and-go item
• One snack
• One drink
• Free veg sticks

The offer provides a saving of 95p compared with purchasing the items separately, while continuing to meet Scottish school nutrition standards.

To make lunchtime quicker and more convenient, Grab Bags must be pre-ordered through the Fusion Online app. Pupils can simply place their order in advance, skip the queue and collect their meal, giving them more time to enjoy their lunch break.

A range of snacks is available, including fruit, fruit and yoghurt, mini muffins and popcorn. Drink options include water and a selection of fruit-flavoured choices.

Councillor Cara Hilton, Fife Council's Education Spokesperson, said: "We know that young people value having more choice over what they eat at lunchtime, and the new Grab Bag promotion is designed to offer exactly that.

"Pupils can mix and match items to create a lunch that suits them, while still benefiting from the high nutritional standards we expect across our school meal service.

"The requirement to pre-order through the Fusion Online app also makes lunchtime more convenient. By ordering ahead, pupils can spend less time waiting in queues and more time enjoying their break with friends.

"At just £2.75, the Grab Bag promotion offers excellent value for money and is another way the council is working to provide healthy, affordable and appealing meal choices for young people in our schools."
