New access road opens at Dunfermline Recycling Centre

A new access road at Dunfermline Recycling Centre, Lochhead will open on Monday 6 July, improving traffic flow, safety and the experience for visitors.

The project introduces a dedicated route for members of the public, while commercial and operational vehicles will continue to use the existing entrance. A sustainable drainage system has also been installed.

The new layout separates public and operational traffic, making journeys through the site safer and reducing delays linked to weighbridge access.

To coincide with the opening, improvement works will take place on the existing entrance road, including resurfacing, kerb widening and drainage upgrades. Temporary traffic lights will be in place. Visitors will be directed to the new access road via clearly signed diversion routes.

David Goodenough, service manager at Fife Resource Solutions LLP  said: "The new access arrangements are a significant improvement for customers using Dunfermline Recycling Centre. By separating public and operational vehicles, we're improving safety, reducing delays and providing a better experience.

"We thank customers for their patience while the final improvement works are completed."

Visitors should allow extra time for their journeys and follow signage when visiting the site during the works.
