The much-anticipated refurbished Netherton Gardens Play Area has re-opened in Kelty.
The £100,000 refurbishment is being funded by Fife Council and the Cowdenbeath Recovery Fund.
Over 40 people took part in the consultation and the final design takes on board their suggestions and choices.
The new design is made up of a variety of equipment which will mean there will be something suitable and accessible for everyone, including a combination swing, toddler train, 3-way see-saw, mushroom steppers, sensory play panels and somersault bars to name a few!
Councillor Linda Erskine, Fife Council Spokesperson for Communities, "This play area is a great example of what can be achieved when the community pulls together. The play area committee and local people have done an amazing job, and it's fantastic to see the results. This park will be a special place for local families for years to come.”
Councillor Alex Campbell, Convener of the Cowdenbeath Area Committee added: "It’s great to see this fantastic new play area now open, which has been made possible through the incredible partnership between the council and our local community. This project highlights the power of collaboration – with input from families and support from local groups, we've created a space that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of those who live here. We're proud to have worked together to provide a safe, fun, and accessible space where children can play and grow, and we look forward to seeing it enjoyed by families for many years to come."
