Kirkcaldy community projects celebrated following £300,000 ‘You Decide’ investment

Community groups from across the Kirkcaldy area will come together next week (Thursday 26 March) to celebrate the achievements of projects funded through the £300,000 You Decide Participatory Budgeting (PB) programme. Green and blue background with a white star

The celebration event will take place in the Beveridge Suite at the Adam Smith Theatre.
Members of the public are warmly invited to come along from 6.45pm to view displays, meet local groups, and learn more about the projects supported through the fund.

The event will show what local groups have achieved with the funding they received from You Decide, which was introduced to give residents a direct say in how public money is spent in their communities. Through the public voting process, people from across the Kirkcaldy area allocated funding to a wide range of community‑led ideas.

Funded projects have delivered a diverse mix of outcomes – from improvements to green spaces and new community events, to support programmes for families, young people, and older residents. Many groups used the funding to purchase equipment, launch new activities, or expand the support they offer locally.

Kirkcaldy Area Convener, Councillor Ian Cameron, said: “These projects show the real impact communities can make when they have a strong voice. ‘You Decide’ has supported great ideas and strengthened local connections, proving just how powerful community‑led action can be.”

Posters and displays showcased on the evening will highlight key successes, personal stories, and the difference these projects have made across the Kirkcaldy area.
