Have your say - What would you like to see in Sauchie Street Park play area in Kinglassie?

Play Area Equipment

Fife Council and Kinglassie Community Council are looking for people to have their say on the new play park design and equipment for Sauchie B Park play area in Kinglassie.

The new park will be funded by Fife Council, Kinglassie Community Council and Section 75 funding. This is money that developers pay to help improve local services and infrastructure when they build new houses. In this case it’s a play area, but it could also be things like roads, affordable housing or schools.  The Community Council is actively fundraising and have submitted funding applications to Fife Environment Trust as well as the Westfield Fund.

Councillor Linda Erskine, Fife Council Spokesperson for Communities and Leisure, said: “Play is important for children’s health and wellbeing, and play parks provide important opportunities for outdoor play.

“We’re planning to refurbish Sauchie B Park play area in Kinglassie and want to make sure it’s suitable and accessible to everyone who may use it.

“We’re currently carrying out a consultation where the community can let us know their thoughts on the design and the play equipment that they would like to see included as part of it.

“I’d encourage as many people as possible to take part and have their say by either filling in a short survey at https://haveyoursay.fife.gov.uk/communities/sauchie-street/ or by picking up and returning a paper copy of the form to Mitchell Hall, no later than 3rd May 2026”

Kathryn McNeill from Kinglassie Community Council, said, “we are thrilled to be participating in partnership with Fife Council to provide a safe, stimulating play area for our village. We encourage people to look at the consultation and have their say; this facility is for the whole village so everyone's opinions matter.”
