Have your say - What would you like to see in Kingseat play area?

Play park with the text: Have your say. Help create better play spaces for children to play in Dunfermline.

Fife Council is looking for people to have their say on the renewal of play park equipment for Kingseat play area in Dunfermline.   The play area is well used, however some equipment now requires renewal to ensure it remains safe, accessible and enjoyable for local children.

We are inviting the local community to share their views on the proposed replacement equipment.

The new park will be funded by Section 75 funding. This is money that developers pay to help improve local services and infrastructure when they build new houses. In this case it’s a play area, but it could also be things like roads, affordable housing or schools.

Councillor Linda Erskine, Fife Council Spokesperson for Communities and Leisure, said: “Play is important for children’s health and wellbeing, and play parks provide important opportunities for outdoor play.

“We’re planning to refurbish Kingseat play area in Dunfermline and want to make sure it’s suitable and accessible to everyone who may use it.

“We’re currently carrying out a consultation where the community can let us know their thoughts on the design and the play equipment that they would like to see included as part of it.

“I’d encourage as many people as possible to take part and have their say by filling in a short survey at  Kingseat Play Area - Fife Council - Citizen Space no later than 10 May 2026.”
