Fostering pop-ups start this summer

Fostering pop-ups at Fife libraries start summer 2026

What's fostering like? Everyone can find out at Duloch and Cupar libraries starting this summer with Fife Council's Fostering Team.

On the first Tuesday of each month, you can visit our fostering po-ups at Duloch Library in Dunfermline starting 7 July and Cupar Library starting 4 August from 9.30am-12.30pm each day.

Fifers can learn what being a foster carer is like from one of the Team, what the process is to becoming a carer, how much our foster carers get paid, what support and training our foster carers receive, and answers to any other questions you may have.

They will also debunk common myths like whether you can foster if you're single, in a same-sex relationship, of any gender, own pets, or don't own your home.

Kelly Blaik, Fife Council's Fostering Team Manager, says: "We know that becoming a foster carer is a lifestyle choice, not just a job. So, we find lots of people thinking about fostering like talking to a real person about it. You can get a lot of information online, but face-to-face conversations and getting to ask questions to foster carers or Team members who are in the know helps people make their decision a lot easier.

"A big thanks to OnFife for letting us host these stalls at their lovely libraries. We hope to see people pop in for a chat. Why not come along and see if fostering's for you?"

Pamela Paton, Operations Manager for OnFife Libraries, said: "We always say our libraries are about more than books, they're about our communities, so we're delighted to be hosting these pop-ups to encourage people to find out more about fostering."

If you can't make it in person to our library events, we hold fostering information webinars on the last Tuesday of every month (the next one is Tuesday 28 July at 6pm) or you can give the team a call on 01383 602235.
