Footpath works on Woodmill Road, Dunfermline

We’re currently improving the footpaths on Woodmill Road, Dunfermline. The next phase of work will need four-way temporary traffic lights at the roundabout with Garvock Bank from Monday 7 September to Friday 18 September 2026.

Woodmill Road is a busy road connecting the east of Dunfermline with the city centre. Traffic may be slower and you may experience delays; please allow extra time for your journey.

Access for residents and emergency services will be maintained wherever possible.

Thank you for your patience and co-operation as we’re improving the footpath network.

Works Programme

The project will involve:

  • Removing existing footpath
  • Ironwork repairs
  • Resurfacing the footpath

Temporary traffic management will be used:

  • 4-way temporary traffic lights on Woodmill Road at the roundabout with Garvock Bank
  • Traffic lights will be removed on Friday 11 September and will return on Monday 14 September

Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents and emergency services during the works. Pedestrian access will be safely managed, and we'll work to ensure deliveries and bin collections can continue wherever possible.

  • Working hours - Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4.00pm
  • If necessary, there may be evening and weekend working
  • All roadworks are weather dependent and may be rescheduled.
