Financial help for Fifers

Anyone on a low income or struggling financially can now get direct financial support from a range of organisations and charities using a new, online tool called Lightning Reach.

Image shows Lightning Reach and Fife Council logos with photos of three individual models of varying ages and the words Need some extra support with your bills and cost of living?

Lightning Reach simplifies a stressful process by allowing you to submit your information just once to scan for multiple grants, utility discounts, and one-off payments from a range of organisations and charities, that won't impact your existing benefits. Lightning Reach is a secure, online site.

Diarmuid Cotter, Head of Customer and Online Services, said: "We know that so many people are still struggling to make ends meet, especially those who live alone. Lightning Reach, makes it easier for residents to access financial help from a range of charities and trusts and to connect them with wider help that can make a lasting difference.”

You can access Lightning Reach yourself by visiting https://www.fife.gov.uk/lrfife

For anyone not confident using technology themselves we have Welfare Assistants who'd be happy to help you with the process. You can contact welfaresupport.cowdenbeath@fife.gov.uk or call the Community Support Line on 0800 952 0330
