Members of the Kirkcaldy Area Committee have welcomed the positive impact of the Every One Every Day Kirkcaldy programme, which is helping people across Kirkcaldy, Burntisland, Kinghorn and Auchtertool learn new skills, make new connections and play a more active role in their communities.
A report presented to the committee highlighted the achievements of the programme in its first year. Every One Every Day Kirkcaldy is delivered by the Corra Foundation and supported by Fife Council, helping residents develop skills, build relationships and take part in practical activities within their local communities.
During 2025/26, the programme:
- Delivered 229 community-led sessions across more than 20 venues.
- More than 2,300 people took part in programme activities.
- Supported 161 residents to become community hosts and activity leaders.
- Generated approximately 4,914 hours of shared community activity.
- Established a community Makerspace in the Mercat Shopping Centre.
The programme has worked with a range of local organisations, including Kirkcaldy and District Men's Shed, Greener Kirkcaldy and Linktown Action, creating more opportunities for local people to get involved, learn new skills and build stronger community connections.
Councillor Ian Cameron, Convener of the Kirkcaldy Area Committee, said: "Every One Every Day is helping bring people together, creating opportunities for residents to learn new skills, make new connections and play a more active role in their communities.
"It's encouraging to see so many people getting involved and helping to shape activities that matter to them. By supporting local people to lead projects and activities, the programme is helping build stronger, more connected communities across the Kirkcaldy area.
"The progress made in the first year shows what can be achieved when people are given the opportunity and support to turn ideas into action."
Emily Wallace, National Programme Manager with the Corra Foundation, said: “We've been overwhelmed with the response to the project from local people. Folks have been coming forward to share their skills, their ideas and their time with each other, and are creating an amazing practical community together.
“We can't wait to see how things develop - everything we do through the project responds to local peoples' aspirations. We know already that there's huge ambition and confidence building. We are so glad we brought this to the Kirkcaldy area first.”
The report highlights the positive impact the programme is having on participants, with 89% reporting that they felt positive about their community after taking part. More than 91% said they had developed new skills or learned something new, while 91.1% reported an improved perception of their local community.
Demand for activities continues to grow, with waiting lists now in place for some sessions. The report notes that future priorities include increasing participation across communities, supporting more residents into leadership roles, strengthening partnership working and developing sustainable arrangements to support the programme's continued growth.
The committee welcomed the progress made during the programme's first year and recognised its contribution to improving community participation, wellbeing and social connectedness across the area. Members also welcomed plans for its continued development during 2026/27.
