Thank you to residents and businesses following completion of major road improvement works between Dunfermline and Crossford.
The summer programme delivered road resurfacing, drainage upgrades, traffic signal replacements, street lighting improvements and bridge repairs. The works formed part of a significant investment in key routes serving the city and surrounding communities.
Additional repairs were identified on Glen Bridge during the project. These essential repairs extended the programme beyond its original end date. Completing the work at the same time reduced the need for future disruption and improved the bridge's long-term resilience.
We recognise the impact the works had and would like to thank everyone for their patience, understanding and cooperation throughout the programme.
Cllr James Calder, Convener of the City of Dunfermline Area Committee, said: "We know these works caused disruption and inconvenience for many people. I would like to sincerely thank residents, businesses and road users for their patience and cooperation throughout the programme.
"The additional bridge repairs were necessary to protect the structure for the future. The completed works will help support safer and more reliable journeys across Dunfermline and Crossford."
The project forms part of Fife Council's ongoing investment in maintaining and improving the local road network.
