Local people in Lumphinnans and Hill of Beath are being encouraged to get involved in shaping the future of their villages, as work begins on creating new Local Community Action Plans.
The Council’s Community Learning and Development teams are working closely with the Community Councils in both Lumphinnans and Hill of Beath to promote the project and bring local people together to help set priorities for their communities. This work is supported by £20,000 of funding (£10,000 for each village) that was approved by the Cowdenbeath Area Committee last month. The funding will help support local engagement and future community‑led projects.
Steering groups are being set up in each village, and local residents, parents, young people, community groups, clubs and businesses are all invited to get involved. The groups will help identify improvements, highlight local needs and shape projects that can make a real difference.
Cllr Alex Campbell, Convenor of the Cowdenbeath Area Committee, said:“This is a great opportunity for people in Lumphinnans and Hill of Beath to have a real say in shaping the future of their village. The funding we’ve approved will support communities to come together, set local priorities and work on projects that will benefit everyone. I would encourage as many people as possible to get involved and help create plans that reflect what local residents truly want.”
Information on how to take part is being shared locally, including posters inviting residents to join the new steering group in both Lumphinnans and Hill of Beath.
