Fife Council would like to thank everyone who came along to the second drop-in session on Tuesday 23 June to find out more about plans for Kirkcaldy’s town centre and waterfront – and to share their views. 
People came along to the session which took place in the heart of the town centre at the Mercat, making it easy for people to pop in, see how ideas are developing and take part in the conversation.
There was a steady flow of visitors throughout the day, with lots of interest, thoughtful questions and constructive feedback.
The session built on the strong response to the first drop-in, with people able to see how earlier feedback is already helping to shape the plans.
People who attended were able to:
- Find out more about how plans are developing
- See how feedback from the first session is being taken into account
- Speak directly to the teams involved
- Share their own ideas, comments and priorities
We received really helpful feedback on a range of issues, including what people value about the town centre now and what they would like to see in the future.
This feedback is now being reviewed and will continue to help shape the plan as it’s refined.
Councillor Ian Cameron, Convener of the Kirkcaldy Area Committee, said: “Thank you to everyone who came along and spoke to us at the Mercat. It was great to be out in the town centre and hear directly from people.
“We’ve already started to build earlier feedback into the plans, and this latest session has given us even more to think about. People shared ideas, asked questions and told us what matters most to them.
“This is an ongoing conversation, and what we’ve heard so far will play an important role in shaping the long-term plan as it develops.”
A third and final drop-in session is planned for August, where people will be able to see how their feedback has helped shape the next stage of the proposals. More details will be shared soon.
