More than £2.1 million was invested in roads, pavements, road safety and traffic management, street lighting and bridges across the Glenrothes area during 2025/26, helping improve journeys for residents, businesses and visitors.

Members of the Glenrothes Area Committee heard about a range of improvement projects that have been completed across the area, including road resurfacing, pavement upgrades, road safety measures, street lighting improvements and bridge works.

Around £1.04 million was spent on road resurfacing projects, with work completed on roads including Flemington Road, the A911 Queensway, Huntsmans Road, Main Street in Star and Beaufort Drive.

A further £214,000 was invested in pavement improvements, helping to make walking routes in communities including Muirfield Drive, Ralston Court and Ivanhoe Drive safer and easier to use.

The programme also included investment in road safety measures, street lighting upgrades and improvements to bridges and other structures across the area.

Councillor John Beare, Convener of Glenrothes Area Committee, said: "Good quality roads, pavements and street lighting make a real difference to people travelling around our communities.

This investment has supported improvements across Glenrothes and the surrounding villages, helping keep local routes safer and in better condition for everyone who uses them.

"We know there is always more work to do, but it’s positive to see projects completed across our communities and continued investment in our local transport network."
